Hytek Wine Cellar

When Loxton businessman David Kimber was building his new home he wanted a wine cellar. He obtained quotes to build one and considered the cost too high. He contemplated doing it himself, but after further investigation he contacted Hytek Concrete Products at Paringa and his dream became an affordable, hassle-free reality. “I think it is great,” he said. “It was very straightforward. We were able to include it in the plans for the house and it has added another dimension to our home.

“If we were to ever sell, it is certainly a selling point.” David and his wife Chris built a two storey home through Bettio Homes in 2001 and designed it in such a way that the doorway to the cellar was below their staircase.

They covered the cellar floor and staircase in carpet and painted the walls white.David is a winegrape grower with more the 280 acres of vines. He knows what is involved in making a good wine and appreciates the need to preserve and improve that quality.
